I don't believe that counselling is a one size fits all. I feel that all my skills, learning, and tools, including techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Indigenous teachings therapy, are something I carry with me into every counselling session. Above all, I use a person-centered approach. You are the center because you are unique, and so are your needs. Your first appointment will be a 2-hour assessment. This gives us time to get to know each other, explore your thoughts and feelings around therapy, including options like telehealth counselling, and discuss what you are hoping to achieve in this process.
The path to healing is not a straight line; it involves many twists and turns, with ups and downs along the way. Often, things may get worse before they improve. I integrate Western methods, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, with Indigenous teachings therapy to support you on your healing journey. Together, we will explore what might be holding you back from living the life you choose. Through our telehealth counselling sessions, we can work together to help you let go of what no longer serves you and develop healthy coping mechanisms for any ongoing challenges you might face. My goal is to assist you in achieving the life you want to live.
I have chosen to conduct my clients' sessions through telehealth counselling for several reasons. I understand that life is busy, transportation can be a challenge, and privacy is often a concern. Utilizing telehealth allows you to select a time that suits you, ensuring you can find a quiet space where you have the privacy you need, without the worry of being seen in a public area. Moreover, telehealth sessions are not only more secure and private, but they also provide the convenience necessary for effective therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Indigenous teachings therapy.

Narrative therapy is an approach that empowers clients to explore and reshape their life stories through open dialogues with their therapists. This method allows individuals to delve into their narratives and actively challenge those that contribute to their struggles. By separating problems from personal identity, narrative therapy, alongside techniques like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Indigenous teachings therapy, emphasizes the belief that individuals are the ultimate authorities in their own lives. Through this collaborative process, clients gain a deep understanding of their values and skills, enabling them to effectively confront present and future issues, whether in-person or through telehealth counselling, and pave the way for transformative change.
